The city has not been strong partners with rochester public schools recently. It is frustrating that the city council didn’t include the need for future schools in their comprehensive plan and I will support an initiative to include a section devoted to RPS’s long-term infrastructure needs.

Ward 2 residents don’t want their children crammed into schools already bursting at the seams. We must rely on school district experts, not the city council,  to provide guidance for how best to solve overcrowding. I will spend time listening to RPS leadership and Ward 2 parents and then help them achieve their goals for their child’s education.

In this time of unrest, I look for clear, concrete, actionable objectives that can be implemented in the short term. Solutions that will immediately impact all students and their families in an equitable and positive fashion.
